Seoul City announced on March 10 that it operated the "Seoul Municipal Experience Internship Program" for approximately two months for 15 foreign trainees currently enrolled in the University of Seoul's Urban Administration Master's for Overseas Public Officials (MUAP) program.
The MUAP course, targeting public officials from Seoul's sister and friendly cities overseas, is part of Seoul's ODA initiative aimed at mutual development through policy sharing.
The municipal experience internship allows participants to observe how Seoul's excellent administration—learned in the MUAP course—is implemented in practice. For the 17th cohort, 15 participants from 12 countries took part from January 8 to February 28 out of 19 total trainees.
This internship marks the first since the Global City Policy Office was established in July 2024, advancing Seoul's foreigner-friendly policies in a specialized and systematic manner across various fields.
Participants from countries including Brazil, Nepal, and Cambodia were assigned to nine departments across seven institutions: Seoul City Hall, Seoul Human Resources Development Center, Seoul International Development Cooperation Agency (SUSA), Seoul Global Center, Seongdong Foreign Worker Center, and Seoul Foreign Residents Center.

Lee Hae-seon, Seoul's Global City Policy Officer, stated, "Seoul will continue efforts to develop overseas human resources and share successful urban problem-solving models, positioning itself as a leader in global administrative innovation."
